MUSIC
My journey hasn’t been what I expected, but I’m grateful for every step. After being discovered on America’s Got Talent and BET’s Sunday Best, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my music with the world, but it’s been a road full of both triumphs and trials.
Growing up, I was inspired by the soulful sounds of artists like Donny Hathaway, Luther Vandross, and Stevie Wonder. My love for music deepened in college, and after earning my degree, I had the chance to work with young artist programs at major opera houses. As my faith grew, I began leading worship with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, which felt like a dream come true.
But everything changed when I had surgery to remove two benign tumors from my chest, and one of my vocal cords was damaged. Doctors told me I might never sing again. For months, I stayed silent, but through that time, my faith was tested and strengthened. Miraculously, my vocal cords healed, and I was able to sing again.
That experience taught me something crucial: my identity isn’t tied to my voice. God had to show me that it’s not just about talent, but trusting Him in everything. Now, I’m here to use the gifts He’s given me to bring Him glory—100% in His hands, and just a faithful servant doing my part.
